Chef Skyler McCallson Named to Utah Valley's 40 Under 40

Utah Valley BusinessQ just named our founder, Chef Skyler McCallson, one of its 40 Under 40 for 2026, and we are still grinning about it.

The feature is called Heart and Hustle, and it profiles 40 people across Utah Valley chasing big ideas and actually pulling them off. Skyler, 33, made the list for building three food businesses out of Pleasant Grove: Under Wraps, our sister restaurant Wok the Line, and the Crack Spice seasoning company.

What the magazine noticed

The write-up covers plenty of resume material. Voted Best Chef in Utah County in 2025. Cooking for names like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Robert De Niro, and Kevin James. Over a thousand Google reviews across the restaurants, averaging north of 4.6 stars. Wok the Line picking up New Business of the Year recognition in Pleasant Grove and Lindon.

The part that sounds most like the Skyler we work for is what he said matters more than any of that. He has hired people fresh out of prison and mentored them as they rebuilt their lives. Our team regularly cooks for the homeless at Pioneer Park. And when one of our chefs dreamed of seeing Mr. Olympia in person, Skyler took him.

As he put it to BusinessQ, he loves creating food and building businesses, but the human side is what means the most to him.

The part our regulars already know

Skyler also told the magazine about the hardest call he ever made here. For nearly three years, Under Wraps lost money. He describes staring at a bank account with a couple thousand dollars left and two options: walk away or go all in.

He went all in. He bought a projector, and Hannah, his business partner, pitched an idea: serve each course timed to scenes from a film. That one pivot became Feast Your Eyes, the movie dinner series that now sells out nearly every month, and it changed the trajectory of the restaurant for good.

So if you have ever eaten roast chicken while the movie hit just the right scene, you were part of the turnaround story that made this list.

This award has one name on it, but it belongs to the whole crew at Under Wraps and Wok the Line, and to every guest who has taken a seat at the hand roll bar or grabbed a ticket to a movie night. Thanks for keeping a Pleasant Grove sushi bar busy enough to get noticed.
